AbouT THE PROJECT

The Open Code for Hate-Free Communication (Op:Code) project aims to counter online hate speech by providing:

  • Support for users and communicators: analysis, recommendations, reports and free software solutions for tackling hate.

  • Data for the European Commision: web monitoring data for future policy.

  • Recommendations on how to address hate for European policy-makers and IT companies.

  • Advocacy and network consolidation for International Network Against Cyber Hate.

The project was created by a consortium of human rights organisations fighting online-hate speech and is currently active in 5 countries: Estonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Spain.
