Want to get better at understanding and combating online hate?

We’ve gathered a helpful list of tools for identifying, analyzing and countering hate-speech.

This Toolkit for Human Rights Speech created by the Council of Europe can be used by both experienced and inexperienced activists. The toolkit focuses on three main areas: analysing hate speech, developing human rights narratives and learning how to create successful online campaigns.

If you are interested in interactive training, you should try the free online training provided by the International Network Against Cyber Hate (INACH). You will learn how to consume online content more critically, how to identify hate speech and its dangers, and multiple counter speech methods.

This ARTICLE19 guide helps you identify hate-speech and effectively counter it. It also offers an analysis of the fine line between hate speech and free speech by looking at policy measures State and non-state actors can undertake in order to foster a democratic environment.
